Jackie Kaderabek of the University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team earned the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week laurels after the Trojans dominated the Cobras of Coker College 19-5 and shutout the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University 24-0 during the week of March 5-11. Kaderabek tallied 12 points in the two games off of seven goals and five assists and is the second Trojan this season to win conference player of the week.
Kaderabek recorded a hat trick in the opening half of the match against Coker and tacked one more on at the start of the second half for a total of four goals during the game. Also during the game, Kaderabek added three assists, took eight shots, six of which were on goal, and scooped up five ground balls to lead the Trojans to a 19-5 victory.
In the match against Southern Wesleyan, Kaderabek tallied another hat trick of three goals and added in two assists. She took five shots during the game with four coming on frame. Kaderabek led the team in draw controls with five and was among the top-five in ground balls with four while her three caused turnovers were tied for the team-high.
Kaderabek and the Trojans return to action on Wednesday, March 14, when they host the 14th-ranked Golden Rams of West Chester University. The two squads meet for the first draw at 1 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sr. Track & Field/Lacrosse Complex in Mount Olive, N.C.
