Mount Olive Selected To Host NCAA DII Baseball National Championship From 2019-2022

The University of Mount Olive has been selected as the host institution for the NCAA Division II Baseball National Championships from 2019-2022, it was announced by the NCAA Tuesday.

The University of Mount Olive and the Town of Cary have co-hosted the NCAA DII Baseball National Championship at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary from 2009 through 2016 and is scheduled to host the championship in 2018.

As the host institution, UMO is involved with all aspects of planning and administering the championship.  UMO personnel handled the sports information and sports medicine duties during the championship.  The UMO baseball coaching staff also hosts a clinic for area youth each year.

"We're excited and honored to have been selected to be the host institution for the DII Baseball Championship for another four years.  We have gotten great feedback on the quality of the event over the last eight years and look forward to working with the Town of Cary to continue providing a first-class championship experience in the future," said Vice President for Athletics Jeff Eisen.
