Mount Olive jumped past two teams on the final day and tied for seventh in the Jay Jennison Memorial Tournament at The Palencia in St. Augustine, Fla. The Trojans finished with a team score of 887 in the 54-hole tournament, which concluded Tuesday.

While individual scores varied throughout the tournament, Mount Olive's team scores were consistent as the Trojans carded a 296 in the third round after shooting a 295 in the opening round and a 296 in the second round. The Trojans, which tied with Rollins (Fla.), were only one shot behind sixth-place Armstrong (Ga.) and 11 shots out of second place.

Brady Hollenbacher and Jesus Valderrama were the Trojans' low finishers, tying for 22nd out of 90 golfers with a 54-hole total of 221. After carding a 74 and an even-par 72 Monday in the first two rounds, Hollenbacher shot a 75 Tuesday. Valderrama recorded the Trojans' lone sub-par round of the day with a 1-under-par 71 after shooting 74 and 76 Monday.

Sebastian Andersen (70-79-75--224) tied for 31st, Dalton Gore (77-71-79--227) tied for 42nd and Philippe Tjantele (78-77-75--230) tied for 62nd.

Tournament host and second-round leader Flagler went on to win the tournament by 11 strokes, carding a team score of 865.

After playing in tournaments in back-to-back weeks, Mount Olive is idle until October 7-8 when the Trojans travel to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the McDonough Cup. Mount Olive tied for fourth out of 18 teams and beat out three national top 10 squads at last year's McDonough Cup.
