UMO Cross Country Sweeps Conference Carolinas Runners Of The Week Awards

High Point, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive swept the Conference Carolinas Runners of the Week awards as both Adam Craig and Leah Hanle earned the honors this week.

Craig earns his first Runner of the Week award of the season following a strong performance at the Furman Invitational on September 9 in Greenville, S.C. He finished second overall in the men's 8k with a time of 23:57.60 ahead of runners from Division I programs of Clemson and Furman. Craig's time is a new personal best and a new school record for the Trojans. Craig set the school record for the men's 8k last season with a time of 23:59 and he shaved nearly two seconds off his own record.

Hanle also broke records en route to her first Runner of the Week laurels of the 2017 season. She finished third in the women's 6k at the Furman Invitational with a time of 20:49.97. The time is nearly half a minute faster than her previous record at 21:03, that she set last season in her freshman campaign.

The Trojans will be in action again on September 23 at the Bulldog Stampede in Wingate, N.C.
