The No. 3 seed University of Mount Olive Trojans falls to the No. 1 seed Limestone College in the 2014 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship Final 61-41 in the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, N.C. Jasmine McDonald and Kirksten Mitchell represented the Trojans on the All-Tournament Team.

Limestone (24-5) started off the first half with the hot hand as they went on a 9-0 run and held Mount Olive (18-11) scoreless for the first four minutes. McDonald got the Trojans on the board with a made free throw and broke the scoring drought for the Trojans with 15:21 in the first half.

The Saints went on another run as Jasmine Kearse's basket with 11:46 sparked a 19-0 run in which the Trojans were held without a basket until the 7:22 mark.

Katie Paschal broke the run for Mount Olive with a spin around layup and the Trojans were down 20-8 with 7:22 to go in the first half.

The Trojans played it tough and got the lead down to ten with 3:21 when Joneiqua Gary picked up a free throw and brought Mount Olive closer to getting the lead under double digits. However, the Saints regained the lead back to 15 with the Kearse three-pointer with 1:54 remaining. The Trojans headed into halftime down 11 after Gary made a layup with :57 left on the clock.

In the second half Limestone controlled the entire rest of the ball game as their potent offense could not be stopped. The Saints extended their lead to as high as 26.

The Trojans were able to get the Saint lead down to ten with Gary's three-pointer at 11:15 left in the game. Although, that was as close as Mount Olive got as Limestone pulled back away for good.

For the Trojans Gary finished with 10 points. McDonald had 11 rebounds to go along with seven points.

Leading the pack for Limestone College was Alicia Brookins with 16 points. Celestra Warren finished with a double-double 12 points, 10 rebounds.

Head Coach Wendy Lee in the post-game interview summed up the game and the season for the Trojans.

"We just never got into a rhyme offensively or defensively and Limestone had a lot to do with that because they're athletic and long and they stand in your face. We didn't have that spark today. We played hard, just not hard enough to get the win. Overall five tremendous seniors that have meant the world to me as a coach; It's going to be hard to let those five go. Dealing with a loss is tough but seeing those five leave is even tougher than taking this loss today".
