Mount Olive Wins 2015 Cherokee Valley Invitational

Julie Loennechen wins the 2015 Cherokee Valley Women's Invitational to lead the University of Mount Olive to a team victory in Travelers Rest, S.C. for women's golf  Tuesday. Loennechen climbed two spots to take the individual title.

Loennechen (76-75-151) took the individual title and held a two stroke cushion after the final round. The Trojans final four golfers finished in the top 20. Julia Kaeding (75-78-153) finished tied for second with four other golfers. Anne Barboteau (76-83-159) finished 8th. Denise Dange (80-83-163) finished tied for 15th. Stefany King (77-88-165) took 18th.

Mount Olive (304-319-623) took the team title and finished with an eight stroke advantage. The 623 total card is the second lowest 36-hole card in program history, the current record in 621.

Mount Olive closes out the spring season on top and will head into the Conference Carolinas Championship on April 19 in Greensboro, N.C.
