Trojans Take Fourth Place At Cutter Creek Invitational

Paula Guridi and Julie Loennechen both tied for 5th place out of 54 golfers and University of Mount Olive took fourth place out of 10 teams after the final round of play Tuesday in the Cutter Creek Women's Golf Invitational at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C. The tournament was UMO's fall opener. 

Mount Olive carded a team score of 636 (316-320) for the tournament. UNC-Pembroke was the tournament champion as they shot 616 (310-306). Meghan Holbrooks of Pfeiffer University won the individual championship with a 148 (73-75).

Guridi and Loennechen shot matching 78's Monday and 76's on Tuesday to land six strokes out of the lead. Julia Kaeding tied for 20th with a 161 (79-82) and Anne Barboteau tied for 28th with an 167 (81-86). 

Mount Olive will return to the greens September 28th when the Trojans travel to Bristol, Tenn. to play in the King Invitational.
