Reid Clewis Steps Down As Trojans' Head Women's Soccer Coach

University of Mount Olive head women's soccer coach Reid Clewis has stepped down to pursue other opportunities, it was announced Tuesday by UMO Vice President for Athletics Jeff Eisen. Clewis has been the head coach of the Trojans since 2015.

"Reid was a valued member of our department, first as a student-athlete and then as a coach," said Eisen. "We appreciate all he did for UMO and wish him the best in his future endeavors."

Clewis was a four-year member of the Mount Olive men's soccer program and became the Trojans' assistant women's soccer coach in 2006. He was a two-time All-Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (now Conference Carolinas) and NSCAA All-Region selection, Clewis scored the winning goal in the championship match of the 2004 CVAC Men's Soccer Tournament for the Trojans' first-ever men's soccer conference championship.

A nationwide search is underway to fill the position.
