Four Trojans Set Personal Bests At Duke Invitational

Four Mount Olive athletes set personal bests in a meet dominated by Division I competition Saturday at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C.

In the running events, Megan Bucek and Amber Thompson set personal marks in the distance competitions. Bucek posted a time of 5:08.86 in the 1,500 meters, while Thompson set a mark with a time of 18:15.42 in the 5,000.

In the field events, Charity Grimes set a personal mark in the discus Saturday with a distance of 35.38 meters, while Char'De Washington did the same in the hammer throw at 36.77.

The Trojans return to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the Chanticleer Classic, hosted by Coastal Carolina University next Saturday.
