HARROGATE, Tennesse - The University of Mount Olive men's volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University on Tuesday night in Harrogate, Tenn. The game was the season-opener for both teams.

Mount Olive took the first points of the contest off the hands of Tobi Azeez and the tightly battled first set commenced as the set went on to be tied nine times as the score went deadlocked at 19. Following a Lincoln Memorial kill and a Trojan hitting error, the two squads kept the set close but the Railsplitters got the final kill taking the set 25-23.

Set two began with LMU taking the first three points of the set and grew their lead to as large as five at 10-5 mark before a four-point run by UMO tied the set at 16 forcing a Lincoln Memorial timeout. The set went on to be tied just once more before the Railsplitters used a 7-to-1 run to jump out to a 24-18 lead that led to their eventual win of the second set 25-18.

The third set remained just as close as the first two with the largest run for LMU being a four-point spread but it was still enough to hold off Mount Olive as Lincoln Memorial went onto a 26-24 set three win and took the match in three sets.
