Trojans Defeat Flying Fleet 23-1

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team dominated the Flying Fleet of Erskine College on Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse. Jordan Shughrue led the Trojans with six goals and eclipsed the 50 goal mark for the season.

How It Happened


  • Mount Olive meant business as they opened the game with two goals in the first minute. Amanda Berger and Jackie Kaderabek were the first two Trojans to connect with the back of the goal.
  • The Trojans continued to dominate the first half as they went on to score 12 more goals before the halftime horn sounded. Shughrue tallied four goals in the half to lead the way for Mount Olive.
  • Kaderabek added two more for a hat-trick in the first half, while Kali Ferguson also added three goals for her own hat-trick.
  • Casey Gover, Denae Haeussler, and Nola Wesche contributed a goal apiece for UMO's 14 goal first half. 


  • The second half was all Mount Olive as the team put up nine unanswered goals to win the game 23-1 over the Warriors.
  • Kaderabek, Shughrue and Kelly Young all scored two goals in the second half, while Ferguson, Keely Trail and Maren DiNenna added the other three.


  • Jordan Shughrue passed the 50 goal mark for the season and now has a total of 54 for the season.
  • Kaderabek is approaching 50 goals as she needs two more to hit the mark while Kiara Burke is four goals away from 50.

Mount Olive returns to action on Saturday, April 14, as they travel to Gaffney, S.C., to face Limestone in a Conference Carolinas contest. First draw between the Trojans and Saints is set for 2 p.m.
